Would You Deny Your Daily Beauty Ritual Of A 5 Second BB Cream?

8 May 2012

Complexion Perfector BB SPF20 from Omorovicza is taking now a leading position on the BB creams sector as its unique formula leaves out silicone, an ingredient that is fairly present in other BB creams and that forms a coat layer in the skin resulting in trapping dirt beneath it that would penetrate the skin pores.

Its formula contains Vitamin C that diminishes free radical damage and increases cell turnover trough the production of elastin and collagen. The skin fine lines and wrinkles are resurfaced and plumped gradually trough the release of the hyaluronic acid deep within the epidermis while ruby crystal helps in reducing the appearance of imperfections and reddish.

Omorovicza Essentials Kit

2 May 2012

I’m so, so pleased that I discovered this kit from Omorovicza. I took it to L.A. with me and, without sounding like a twerp, it made a vast difference to my “beauty experience”. Usually I have to leave the luxury luxuries at home because they always come in really heavy packaging, which isn’t ideal for travelling. Now and then, I’ll decant into little travel pots, but the problem with that is that I get home and forget what’s in the little pots! So it was great to have my pampering products at hand when I was jetting about – a spritz of Queen of Hungary mist at regular intervals did wonders for the skin and soul!

So I like to have mini versions of the full-sized products, with at least a label to identify what’s inside. Even better when the minis are light, travel-friendly versions with actually quite amazing volumes! The Queen of Hungary Mist, for example, is 30ml, retail value approx £14. The two moisturisers are 20ml each, retail value approximately £38 (for the Rejuvenating Night Cream) and £34 for the Illuminating Moisturiser.

Then there are two extremely cute little pots of the thermal cleanser, which is excellent, and a luxury face mitt. I’m trying to work out what the sachets are in the photograph – I’m pretty sure they didn’t come in my pack, unless I threw them out with the foam packaging. I hope not! Anyway, the retail value of the kit is well over what it sells for, and at the moment it’s on offer at £50 instead of £75. Quite a good way of giving some of the range a try if you don’t want to fully commit to a massive moisturiser!

Stephen de Heinrich of Hungarian brand Omorovicza confides: “until last year, I had no clue what a BB cream was.  Yet I’ve since spent time in China and Taiwan, and test many, and now of course we have our own, laced with our signature mineral waters – and I cannot imagine how we started a complexion range without it.  We knew we’d got it right when it started selling well in China and at Lane Crawford in Hong Kong, we’ve had to create a waiting list.”

Pixiwoo

Omorovicza Sunkiss SPF15

1 May 2012

We see a lot of summer liquid bronzers that have a high shimmer, great if you like this finish but if you have an oily skin, mature skin or just generally hate shimmer then this could be the bronzer for you.

This is a real multi use product as it helps to prolong an existing tan whilst providing a sun protection of factor 15. It is almost like a tinted moisturiser in the way that it smoothes out the skin colour and tone and provides a really minimal coverage. The soft golden tone tints the skin ever so slightly but the big plus for us here at Pixiwoo is that it looks matte on the skin. When you think of a sunkissed glow you may think shimmery but sometimes all this shimmer distracts from the actual product and can look really obvious and fake. We prefer the look where people assume you have had a week in the south of France not applied half a pot of shimmering bronze pearls to your cheeks.

You can use this in place of a tinted moisturiser, mix it with your foundation or apply just on the higher planes of the face where you would naturally tan.

It's not really that buildable, the colour you see is what you get but it is easily paled down by mixing with your moisturiser if you have a fair skin.

A really good product for holidays as a one stop product or if you are getting married in a hot climate and want a natural product that photographs well.

You beauty!: Annabel Rivkin's Cabinet Of Wonders

So this stuff has an SPF of 15, which is virtuous, and contains all kinds of crazy Hungarian minerals that bind to and treat the skin.

It acts as a kind of veil. It performs a virtuoso turn in face-grouting; filling in cracks and minimising lumps. It is super-sheer and gives the very convincing impression that you are wearing nothing more than the proof of excellent genes and the last remnants of a Caribbean holiday.

Well, I have not seen the Caribbean in years and I both doubt and resent the quality of my genetic inheritance. But everyone keeps asking me if I’ve been away. I blame the unpronounceable Hungarian marvel.

Model Skincare Secret: Deep Cleansing Masks

18 Apr 2012

For as long as I’ve been modelling (almost eleven years? Or is it twelve?) I’ve been using clay masks to help draw out impurities and keep my skin clear. I do find that you have to be a little bit organised with clay-based masks; they can be absolute dynamite at bringing all of the skin-crap to the surface. (Yes, “skin-crap” is a proper, medical phrase. Ahem.)

I must have tried dozens of deep cleansing masks, but the five shown in the video below are my current favourites and most-used. I’d say that the Omorovicza [Deep Cleansing Mask] is my absolute “gold star” product, but I do use the Liz Earle very regularly too. The Glam Glow is properly, properly heavy-duty (Mr AMR loves this one!) and the Aromatherapy Associates version is a joy to use. The Neutrogena is the cheapest, and it has quite a tingle due to the (I think completely unnecessary) addition of menthol to the formula. Oh well, you get what you pay for, I suppose, and it’s £3.99! I still use it loads, but I do wish that people wouldn’t stick in extra bits and bobs just to make us feel as though the product is working!

All of the links are beneath the video pane – hope you enjoy this one. Deep Cleansing really is one of my top “model skincare secrets”!

Omorovicza BB Review

7 Apr 2012

Which is why I was excited to see that Omorovicza have launched a new skin enhancer – this one has been labelled a ‘BB’ Complexion Perfector and it has a paler finish than the Enhancer as well as an SPF20. I haven’t quite formed my opinion on BB Creams yet – so many brands are jumping on the bandwagon and bringing out glorified tinted moisturisers with very little extra benefit. Some of them don’t even have an SPF built in, which for me defies the whole point of an all-in-one!

Omorovicza’s version is spot-on, though; impressive skincare benefits that plump, resurface, boost cell turnover and collagen production and then on top of this give a gorgeous, flawless finish. The BB Perfector has a cooler, more luminescent glow than the Enhancer – it would suit fair skins beautifully, and to slightly darker skin it gives an almost ethereal sheen. It has more coverage than the Complexion Enhancer yet still feels as wonderfully light with a moisturising, dewy finish.

Feeling Balmy

1 Apr 2012

BB creams - also knows as blemish balms or beauty balms - are all the rage in Asia. Now brands like Clinque, Estée Lauder, Dior Beauty, Boscia, 3Lab, and Dr. Brandt Skincare, to name just a few, are rolling them out here. This new breed of tinted moisturizer was created to calm skin, smooth wrinkles, and diminish dark circles. I’ve been using Omorovicza’s which contains soft-focus powers to mask flaws.

Behind The Buzz: BB Creams

20 Mar 2012

Omorovicza Complexion Perfector BB SPF 20 – The all-in-one BB cream is silicone-free and formulated to moisturize, conceal, treat and protect against harmful UVA/UVB damage.

Skin Care Benefits:
Contains Encapsulated micro-injected Hyaluronic Acid – to plump and resurface fine lines and wrinkles, Vitamin C – to increase skin’s elasticity, White Lupin – to energize, Ruby Crystal to reduce the appearance of imperfections, Vitamin C – to brighten and firm, Hungarian Thermal Water – to improve collagen production.

The verdict:
We let our Social Media girls and a few graphic designers sort through this one. The silicone-free skin perfector glides on with ease and quickly absorbs. Within seconds it dramatically reduces the appearance or redness, broken capillaries, and uneven tone. The girls around the office were particularly impressed with all of the good-for-skin benefits infused into the cream and the subtle ethereal shimmer effect.

Omorovicza Plumping Cream

14 Mar 2012

With skin care, I'm always on the lookout for that holy grail product that gives a pretty instant indication that the effects are going to be something special. And I do think you can tell pretty well straight away if something is right for you. Any product that says you need 8 weeks plus to see any effects and I'm straight to snoozeville.. I don't want to wait that long because I always feel that over that amount of time I'll have forgotten what my skin looked like in the first place.

It's that instant pzzazz that some creams have and many others don't that gives me a proper skin care buzz. And so it is with Omorovicza Plumping Cream. The promise is that your skin will look plumped up and lovely by morning absoutely was true for me: I slathered it on last night, and when I checked my skin this morning, it certainly did look rather smooth and rejuvenated, with that 'post-facial' feel to it. I'm not so bothered about what it will do over time if it can produce a feel-good and look-good effect overnight. This is what is exciting about a product, not a long, torturous wait to see if anything happens.

From Hungary With Love

12 Mar 2012

It may sound like overkill, but the sun-protecting, antiaging, hydrating, dark-spot-correcting multitasker can’t lose at the retail counter, which is why nearly every brand is branching out to include its very own. Blemish balms, as they are more commonly known, are tricky to nail down, though. In our experience, true-to-the-original formulas are surprisingly thick, boasting whitening agents that form a physical barrier against the sun but can look cakey on the skin. Others, in an attempt to counteract this problem, are too thin, thus minimizing the efficacy of the product’s supercharged abilities. Omorovicza has struck a pretty good balance with its first offering in the category, which bows this month. The Hungarian brand known for bottling the country’s world-famous healing waters, which are unusually rich in complexion-balancing minerals like copper, zinc, calcium, and magnesium, has developed an SPF 20 BB cream that features encapsulated micronized hyaluronic acid spheres that are able to plump fine lines from deep within the skin, while vitamin C fends off free-radical damage, micro algae extracts boost cell regeneration, and ruby crystals create a unique light-reflecting quality to blur imperfections. Most impressive is its coverage, a nearly universal single shade that falls somewhere between a lightweight foundation and a (really) good tinted moisturizer. That it’s the only BB Cream out there without silicone, which can coat the skin and trap dirt underneath pores, is just an added bonus.

Beauty Sleep Redefined: Omorovicza Instant Plumping Cream

10 Mar 2012

Have you ever noticed indentions in your skin, like deep lines that weren’t exactly wrinkles? I noticed them on my forehead and chin, although my chin has always been a troubled spot.  The remedy is the use of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid on a nightly basis for at least a 5 to 7 day regimen.

The beauty of  the Instant Plumping Cream is that it works  magic overnight, filling in expression lines and wrinkles while nourishing the skin with a huge dose of hyaluronic acid.

Key Ingredients:

-Hyaluronic filling spheres swell and plump the skin, smoothing surface imperfections.

-Omega 6 ceramide retextures the lipid matrix for a stronger barrier function. It also replenishes dehydrated skin and restores softness and elasticity.

-Oligopeptides boost the production of collagen and elastin.

-Mineral CosmetologyTM, a patented mineral delivery system, leaves skin firmer, more supple and younger-looking.

I get so excited applying my nightly ritual of lotions and potions, and I wake up in the mornings eager to see the result,  and can you guess what happened to those deep lines that weren’t exactly wrinkles, well they’re gone.

Beauty Sleep is redefined with Instant Plumping Cream by Omorovicza, dry skin is replenished, firmer, smoother and pleasantly plump.

Instant Plumping Cream is a Citygirl favorite!

Look Fantastic

Range View: Omorovicza

14 Feb 2012

Omorovicza uses the beauty phenomenon, Mineral Cosmetology, with Hungary’s thermal water as a key ingredient – So when you think of Omorovicza skincare, your mind is immediately taken to the luxurious and glamorous world of spas in Budapest. But would these products devised for pampered princesses really transfer and work well for us busy LF girls on-the-go? We tested them to find out…

Omorovicza Gold Rescue Cream
Frustratingly, it doesn’t really matter how much of a good night sleep I get, the quality of my diet, or how  well I look after my skin; I still inevitably wake up with every morning with dull/dry and uneven skin.

Fed up and sceptical I applied the cream morning and evening for a week, and although my skin look instantly brighter, it wasn’t until about the third day in a row that I noticed that my complexion was evening out. The formulation felt gentle enough for the extra delicate dry areas, and now after a week of use – I have definitely noticed a dramatic difference to the overall mood of my skin.

Omorovicza Rejuvenating Night Cream
I must admit that, despite being a ‘skincare expert’, I’m not always that keen on the idea of a night cream. Often I find them to be too greasy, and although I’m a big believer in a good eye cream, I would rather not wake up with a fresh face of blemishes. I gave the Omorovicza Rejuvenating Night Cream a go, as I’m always open to change and I was pleasantly surprised. Although rich, the cream is easily absorbed, and my skin felt a lot softer in just minutes after applying it. I have noticed a long-term difference in my skin, it looks more even, and feels more hydrated throughout the day.

Omorovicza Instant Plumping Cream
With the cold winter air nipping at my skin, radiators on full blast – I find it’s an endless battle to keep my skin hydrated this time of the year! So I was excited to see what this cream was all about! After cleansing I applied the cream to my face and neck- I could immediately feel my skin soaking up the cream. Containing hyaluronic filling spheres and omega 6, this unique formula works to fill and plump the skin overnight. I was excited to see what the morning bought- my complexion looked clearer, imperfections seemed smoother, my skin felt hydrated and looked re-energised. A definite winner for me!

Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm
I have tried A LOT of cleansers in my time at lookfantastic (a definite perk of the job), so if I am totally honest I thought I knew exactly what to expect when I was given the Thermal Cleansing Balm to review, but this time I was very wrong. It is totally different to anything I have tried before, and I have to say I absolutely loved it. I suffer with dry skin, so the thick and oily texture this balm was perfect for me. The best way to describe my skin after using this cleanser was ‘polished’, which not a word I have ever used to describe my complexion.  What is more, I could see a noticeable change in my skin after just one use, so all in all, a huge success for me and my much smoother softer skin!

Pretty Gossip

Cleansing Balm... Made Of Mud?!

9 Feb 2012

One type of cleanser I didn’t discuss in the “Why and How Skincare Series: Cleanser” are Cleansing Balms.
This is a new type of cleanser (at least for me) and I was super excited to try it out. I got a sample size of Omorovicza’s Thermal Cleansing Balm and my dry skin is in L.O.V.E. I’ve used cleansing oils, which are also great… but wow. This Cleansing Balm takes it to another level. I wish I discovered it sooner… and had a bigger jar of it!

Reasons why I love this cleansing balm (No particular order):
-Smells great. The company describe the scent as Orange Blossom… but I’m not sure that’s accurate. Either way, doesn’t matter cause I like the smell a lot. It reminds me of minerals… in a good way.
-Exfoliation gentle enough to use everyday.
-The oil melts on the skin and removes all impurities.
-Skin felt soft and moisturized. I wasn’t running to put on moisturizer like I do after washing my face with other cleansers.
-I was afraid my skin wouldn’t feel clean after because of all the oils… but I was pleasantly surprised that after I patted my skin dry with a towel… my face felt super clean! A deep down clean without the squeaky feeling.
-NO Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrances, Synthetic Dyes, Petrochemicals, Phthalates, GMOs, and Triclosan

I’m impressed! The cleansing balm literally melted the makeup away. This cleansing balm totally outperformed in removing the waterproof eyeliner that the cleansers in my previous experiment couldn’t! You can still see traces of the blue Buxom mascara in the after picture, but I’m surprised the balm removed as much mascara as it did. Regular cleansers aren’t meant to take off mascara, so I highly recommend using a separate eye makeup remover before cleansing the face. If you’re removing mascara with regular cleanser… either you’re not getting all of it, or you’re probably rubbing your eyes too hard to get the mascara off! Either way it’s not good, so please use an eye makeup remover for mascara.

All in all, I’m really happy with this product and highly recommend it to people who have dry skin. Use it daily for your night time cleansing, and your skin will thank you. Until next time, stay pretty… inside and out.

Getting Some Winter Glow

20 Jan 2012

That Omorovicza’s Complexion Enhancer is absolutely divine. I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about it before? It gives an almost tanned look but it’s very simple to use – I use it just like a moisturiser and then double check in the mirror to make sure I’ve rubbed it in properly! It does give some coverage – enough to ‘blur’ imperfections and even out the skintone, but the effect is completely natural. (Again, as with the Vitazing, the warm tone isn’t suited to extremely fair skin.) The Telegraph named this the best stealth concealer and I have to agree!

Belle Belle

Omorovicza Queen Of Hungary Mist

11 Jan 2012

I’ve recognized some skin care products for sticking around for decades, but this is the first time I’ve encountered something that has passed the test for centuries. The original formula of Queen of Hungary Water was formulated for Queen Elisabeth of Hungary in the 14th century. It was the original “must have” in Europe, known all over the continent for centuries. Are you paying attention yet? Because this legend certainly had mine. And I can’t say I blame the Queen for reportedly having the original formula written in letters of gold. Yes, it is that good.

And I am no stranger to sprays or sprits. I use these products year-round: for extra moisture in the winter and a refreshing cool-down in the summer. So trust me when I say this one is special. It is part fragrance, but only in the sense that it effects your mood in the most lovely way. The Orange Blossom, Rose, and Sage Waters are uplifting, refreshing and soothing all at the same time. The updated formula contains no alcohol, allowing for tremendous skin care benefits.

The whole Omorovicza line utilizes Hungarian Thermal Water, full of minerals and trace elements that work wonders on the skin. In addition, the founders developed Omorovicza Pannon Complex that works to best deliver these beneficial ingredients. So, as your mood lifts, you are toning and hydrating the skin – probably why I have decanted this into smaller containers for the airplane.

Some of my other Omorovicza favorites include: Thermal Cleansing Balm, Gold Eye Lift and Gold Shimmer Oil.

Omorovicza Balancing Moisturizer

LOVE, LOVE,  LOVE.  Why are you so $$, Omorovicza??  Unfortunately, I just cannot spring for this after my By Terry extravaganza this season but, it’s definitely on my radar for the near future.  This formula is ultra soothing and calms and balances stressed/irritated skin.  After using several samples, I’d vote for this product over La Mer any day.  This cream regulates sebum production, clears dead skin cells & helps decrease the size and appearance of pores.  It’s pretty fab all around and well worth the $ plus it comes in a nice size bottle.  Perfect for combination & oily skin.

If you’re not familiar with Omorovicza, I’m predicting you will be soon.  I see MAJOR press on the horizon for this killer brand from Budapest.

Luxury in a bottle! If you are going to splash out on anything, it should be an all over body cream like Omorovicza’s Body Cream.

This gorgeous cream both hydrates and firms skin in one application, without leaving skin feeling sticky or oily! I don’t actually have a bad word to say about this cream, at £50 it is above my usual budget for a body cream, but with such a long lasting quality, it is surprisingly worth every penny!

The cream glides on like silk, takes care of sensitive and dry areas, and absorbs rapidly.

Anti-Ageing Product Reviews

2 Nov 2011

The best anti-ageing products:

Hungarian beauty brand, Omorovicza is renowned for its anti-ageing products and its patented mineral delivery system, which promotes collagen and elastin production.

The Gold Eye Lift is infused with gold, which works to strengthen skin and heal damage, as well as vitamin A to resurface lines and wrinkles and ceramide to restore suppleness.

With a thick creamy texture the Eye Lift feels luxurious to use and leaves the sensitive skin around the eyes feeling ultra hydrating. A small amount of the cream goes a long way, so you only need less than a pea size amount to massage around the eye area.  Although it’s expensive, the tiny amount needed means that the pot will last a really long time and therefore makes each application more affordable.
